WP-BusinessDirectory - Featured Listings

I was wondering is there is a way of offering featured listings outside of the packages.

We want to be able to sell featured listings as an "Upsell" rather than part of a package.

The need is this:

Have some way of marketing to existing users featured listig option as an upsell like in their dashboard.

The featured listing option could be created just like a package and sold seperately and a user could add the option to his listing at any time they like.

There could be a monthly option, billed in advance and be part of the user's billing and invoicing.

When the featured listing is a set days away from expriring, the system should send the user a reminder and give them the option of extending it or letting it expire.

The whole point is keeping in separate from the complete packages and offer it as a trackable and automated option.

Right now, the way featured listings work is they are part of a package and say if someone buys a package with a featured listing, the listing is featured for the term of the package and it isn't very fair to others who would want to be featured as well.  You have 100 users all with featured listings, it really sucks for anyone who paid for the package with that option if they were not in the first five that purchased it.

I hope that makes sense, this way it gives everyone an opportunity to fairly use the featured listing option.  You might even want to run a ramdomizer for featured listing too so it's not always the first company listed as featured every time the listings are loaded.
